Podcasting is
the distribution of audio files over the internet using RSS syndication.
A podcast is a web feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet
and made available for user subscription.
Urban_D RADIO utilizes the Enhanced Podcasting technology
(.m4a) to compliment the podcasts with imagery.
- For this example we're looking at how iTunes™ handles
podcasting.
- Goto: Advanced / Subscribe to Podcast...
- Enter the podcast URL into the dialogue box.
- Click the 'GET' buttons to begin downloading a podcast.
- Toggle the iTunes™ artwork & video viewer.
- Note the chapter button to the right of the iTunes™ display
window, just above the podcast description.
- Toggle the chapter button to navigate the podcast's
chapter breaks.
Note: You can burn Urban_D RADIO Podcasts (.m4a's) to
a CD from within iTunes™, which will automatically split-up your
compilation into seperate tracks based on each podcast's chapter breaks.
.m3u PLAYLIST FILE
.m3u (MPEG Version
3.0)
is a file format that stores multimedia playlists.
It was originally implemented by Winamp™,
although it is now supported by many applications, including Windows
Media Player™ & iTunes™.
One common use of the .m3u file format is for easy access
to Internet streams and Internet
radio listening.
Downloading any one of Urban_D RADIO's .m3u files will
allow you to import Urban_D RADIO artists' tracks into your preferred media
player or iTunes™ music library.
Save the .m3u file to your desktop and open it with
your preferred media player. iTunes™ users: create a new playlist, and simply
drag the .m3u into iTunes'™ main window.
- Create a new playlist.
- Toggle the iTunes™ artwork & video viewer.

has been in operation since June of 2004. The current version of this website
was launched in Sept. 2005. We are based out of the United States. Urban_D
RADIO is not-for-profit.
